This morning La Casa Grande woke up to Maria turning on the news and telling us all about the Tsunami warning that has been issued to all South American countries lining the Pacific Ocean. We are all pretty gutted to hear about the 8.9 earthquake that hit Japan earlier this morning and our thoughts turn to everyone there. It was around this time last year, as some of our volunteers will remember, that Chile itself suffered an 8.8 earthquake and we were all witnesses to the destruction it caused here, in a country accustomed to shakes and tremors in its grounds.

Although we’re perfectly safe here, it’s quite interesting watching today’sevents unfold and the countdown to when these waves are supposed to be approaching the Chilean coastline. Hopefully, everyone is just being necessarily over precautious.

Thinking of Japan.
