Gap Chile was set up by Claudio and Clare Duran, a Chilean-English couple living in England. Wanting to contribute back to Chile, they established a small nursery school in the serene town of La Calera where Claudio is from. The school’s mission is to give under privileged Chilean children a great start in life. Gap Chile offers enthusiastic individuals from all over the world the chance to volunteer at the school. In addition to the school, Clare and Claudio have reached out to various other worthy initiatives in La Calera and now offer a variety of opportunities for volunteers to get involved. If you are looking for a unique opportunity to volunteer with the flexibility of choosing how long you stay and what projects you contribute to, in one of the most diverse countries on this planet Gap Chile is definitely for you.


What you can do..

Apart from working in the nursery school every week, there are other community projects we can get you involved with.

- Teaching English to older students

- Working in the woman’s rehabilitation center.

- Teaching music to older students

- Working with the Red Cross

- Helping the elderly

- Working with local orphanages

 

Chile offers pretty much everything to do around the country like..

- Skiing

- Surfing

- Amazing walks

- Horse Riding

- Cicling or just voluntary work.

You can choose whatever you want to do and we can make your schedule, we recognise people talents and we want to get the most of it!

Accommodation

You will be placed in shared accommodation based in La Calera, Region V, Chile. It’s under 2 hours outside of the capital city, under an hour away from the beach and over an hour away from the snowy mountains. Just have a look to our Accommodation section.

Price

This Placement costs £650 for the first month, £500 Following months.This means like no others organisation we are not here to make a profit our primary  concern is for the people we want to help and this include you.
